Economy
Value
For the money you pay for them, not many other cars of its age can match it.
Costs
Cheap aftermarket parts are dirt cheep - you can pick most of them up from your local scrapyard.

Driving
For an old car, it's fun to drive.
Performance
Not the fastest 1.3, but this car wasn't really built for speed.

Living with it
Reliability
Very good. Engines can take a hammering. Carb needs re-setting every 12 months.
Image
For a car of its age I think they look better than most, and hey it's a Vee-Dub.
Comfort
Very roomy. Nice size boot. Seats hold up well too.

Security and Service
Security
Not good. Someone put a srcewdriver through my door rather than go for the lock.
Service
Never gone to VW - too expensive.
