Volkswagen Golf Hatchback (1984 - 1992) 1.6 Driver 3d (89) Owner Review

There is this car about 12 years in our family. It is made simply but with of the best ideas. I think that VW was the company of geniuses among the other companies. - The motor is like a small and light box with 1.6L and 70 horses. But it is flexible as a diesel and breaths like a dragon, you can drive on every RPM. First of all: The main characters of car dynamic is in that how do you feel it? It feels really perfect. Nice pedals work - not light on press and you can feel the motor without ears. - Suspension is really amazing. First of all, it drives really stable on 150km/h with the 165/70/R13 not well balanced front winter tyres. Secondly, suspension is quite compact at all. The car looks not so lifted but it's clearance is wonderful. I can prove it easilly: I live in UA and work at something about a village area, roads are really lousy, especially in winter, but Golf goes through this like a plane. And sure, one of the best advantages of Golf is really light and informative steering without PAS. It is easy to drive with closed eyes (some joke, but true characteristic) - Really big and comfortable cabin. The rear seat I can only name a sofa. This is the most comfortable car in this class and also make a competition nowadays. All buttons are on your hand. Very nice driver seat and view. It is easy to park in a garage, parallel parking and without mirrors. But one disadvantage about front seats: original cheap seats are really bad, it wears very fast and you should find something a bit expensive from velour or GL or other better versions. It's cleverly made and very honest to it's owner, no questions and unpleasant surprises. Nowadays I would buy this car instead of new Polo and also new Golf.
