Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£650
When did you buy the car?
November 2005
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes! I paid £650 and it came with a full service history and 6 months MOT, and ONLY 104,000 miles on the clock. Thats nothing for a Golf Diesel
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
It was the best one going through the auctions on the day I went.
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Easy to drive. Cheap and cheerful. The clutch is a bit heavy but you get used to it. It is said that the steering is heavy, but I don't think it is. Ity's got a good feel to it and the feedback is superb. It's a great handling car, nice and sharp but mine has been lowered 40mm. Before hand it was a bit on the choppy side at high speeds. Also it has a manual choke, which is a bit dated now. Opt for the TDi engine as it's much better.
What's it like to park?
Simple to park, rear visibility is excellent.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nope, just the odd wear and tear. Had to get new front wishbones when I bought it but they were only £20 each.
What's most practical about your car?
Superb rear visibility. All the switch gear is in easy reach of the driver.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Err, what gadets?! It's a CL so doesn't even have electric windows. You get a heater, thats about it. The GL models are much better equipped.
