Volkswagen Golf Hatchback (1992 - 1998) 1.9 D SE 5d Owner Review

this is now my 3rd mk4 golf, after having a mercedes a class for a year and nothing but constant break downs i decided to go back to the only car i have ever found to be bullet proof and reliable, be it i've only had it a month, now, same feeling of a little tank , only had to change the mass air flow sensor on it and it now drives effortlessly and can tell its been remapped at some point, i have basically driven vw's for past 30rs now, never had problems with my other 2 mk 4's, my 3 passats, and even had to bay campers and 2 t25's campers, should never bought a merc, they don't make them like they used to.! if you need a bomb proof oldie but goodie, i swear by the mark 4 golf, most reliable go to car if on budget, saving for a mk 6 now, and know this car will last me well till i get one! make sure you get a good with history! average minter is around £1000 to £1500 for immaculate these days! got mine for £950 and bags of life left in it yet unlike mercs all my elctrics work and this is a 18yr old car now, and far quicker and more pulling power than the ratty newer merc i had, i spents over £1500 on repairs with that, and only £16.50 on the new air flow sensor for this one which is all it needed to make like new drive again
