Economy
Value
High initial cost, but keeps its money very well!!
Costs
Average servicing costs. Insurance expensive, especially on the GTi model.
-
On the road
Driving
Could be a bit smoother over the bumps and the power steering is quite heavy, but motorway driving is perfect.
Performance
Fairly quick, but no way as quick as it should be for a GTi. There are a lot more cars out there with smaller engines that can outrun this, no problem !!

Living with it
Reliability
Solid as long as serviced by VW dealers.
Image
Maybe looking a bit square compared to some of the cars out there, but end of the day it's still a GTi!!
Comfort
Very supportive sport seats and a good driving position.

Security and Service
Security
Thatcham 2 immobiliser as standard, but had to upgrade to an alarm as well for insurance purposes.
Service
Very professional manufacturer and dealerships who take great care over you and your car. End of the day, this is a Volkswagen.
