Friends love the car wish they had one. Lacks toys of newer cars.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Only problem with the VR6 is they never made a like for like replacement the R32's (Mark IV) are still expensive and much bigger than the mark III, and more of a tourer. If I had the money would go for something else.

What are you likely to buy next?

Problem is wanting more power/speed after the golf. Maybe an S2000 or M3

What's it like to drive?

Excellent drive. Few sensible mods make all the difference. Full exhaust system, air filter lowered, factory fitted body kit, twin head lamp conversion, superchiped. Very smooth and with the above mods put it over the 200 bhp mark and makes the 6 cylinders sound even better. Haven't driven another to compare though. The fuel consumption is as other reviews suggest around town low 20s to 25 max and 30 to low 30s on a run. But you shouldn't expect anything less from a 2800cc

Good, with decent rear-visibility.

Nothing at all (touch wood)

Decent sized boot

Full closure alarm
