Economy
Value
Pricey and in hindsight I should have gone for the Seat Leon.
Costs
Okay. Just like any other GTi.
-
On the road
Driving
Suspension soft compared to other GTIs. Floaty over uneven surfaces.
Performance
Fairly quick.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Broken down three times in a year. Fault list as long as your arm.
Image
Looks better with the spoiler that should come as standard.
Comfort
Okay, but the rattles drive me mad...

Security and Service
Security
The alarm failed when the rear washer pipe split and flooded the tailgate.
Service
VW UK Customer Services are hopeless. Dealer is okay, though, but not supported by the parent company.
