Summary
What does this car say about you?
It was bland and easily lost in a car park. There are lots of silver GT TDIs about. (That's why I sold it!)
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They didn't know I'd got it. It is suburban camouflage!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. To get one with a full, comprehensive history, SAT NAV and all the bits for the price I did is pretty incredible. It gives excellent miles per gallon whilst being quick. However, the blandness of the car is a draw back. Even with big wheels it still looks like every other Golf. All in all though, an outstanding car and its easy to see why it was the class leader for so long.
What are you likely to buy next?
I HAVE already bought a Nissan Primera SVE DI. Just wanted a little more room and a bit more oddball styling. Trouble with a golf is that they hold their money so well and if someone offers you considerably more than you paid for it...

It was highliy specced with SAT NAV, heated seats, Winter pack and sports pack.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Excellent. Handles well with good useable power
What's it like to park?
Easy, although I miss not having reversing sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes, brake light switch failed causing engine management fault and front roll bar bushes needed replacing.
What's most practical about your car?
The big car feel in a small car. Allows you to manoever well in traffic.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Loved the cruise control (Best I've ever had) HATED the SAT NAV. Over complicated, difficult to use and it got lost.
