Volkswagen Golf Hatchback (1997 - 2004) 1.9 TDI Match 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Funnily enough I remember getting the car at the same time on 13th March 2003 as the same date as Mr Ireland, a few reviews down, he got a 1.4 Match and I got a Match Tdi, we collected the cars at the same time and I remember taking to him! The car has been mine since new, got it from Isaac Agnew Vw Newtownabbey, it’s a silver 1.9 tdi pd match and is a super car, has been serviced all it’s life by Isaac Agnew and I have no intention of getting rid of it, after all It runs and can do good mpg. Some people call me Cheap cause I won’t get rid of it but I’m actually quite attached to it, holds many memories of trips when my kids were wee (now 25 and 23). It is a very reliable car and I have had to do very little to it apart from the general things (wiper blades, brake discs etc), it’s only failed Mot once because the rear left brake light wasn’t working. I’ts just been mot’d yesterday for another year and taxed until 1st March 2021. The car still has the original number plates, tax disc holder and rear window sticker so is a very original car. to be honest when it is done and can’t drive it anymore (long way away unless something terrible happens) I will probably store it and get completely restored, paint Respray, alloys refurbed and engine work so I can still drive it on weekends. I do an avg of about 7000-8000 miles a year however one year I did 17000 in it when my mother was ill and was constantly driving up and down the motorway multiple times a days and it didn’t miss a.beat . Would definitely recommend it too
