Economy
Value
When you buy a Golf, you expect to pay more because you think you're getting more
Costs
Average. I get 40 to a gallon on a average run, although a friend of mine who has a TDI can get 60 to 80
-
On the road
Driving
Good solid feel. Handles fairly well. No complaints
Performance
Slow. 125 BHP, sounds good but nothing on a 1.8 Turbo, which has 150 BHP.

Living with it
Reliability
Problems with the bracket in the doors. Known defect, you'll find your door window drops into the door at least they go halves with you. Cost me £70. Burns to much oil. All in all, I want to get rid of it. Anyone want to buy a Golf GTI?
Image
Still looks good. Must be mad for wanting to get rid of it.
Comfort
I must say, one of the more comfortable cars I ever had

Security and Service

Passenger door needs a double click, boot needs the key and the security light on the door looks the part

Fantastic when it was in warranty and they did go half on a known defect
