Summary
What does this car say about you?
Sensible, refined choice. Not that bothered about fuel economy, value style over substance.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Quite like it. It doesn't look as yobbish as some of my previous cars.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably not. Nothing particularly wrong with it, and the VR6 engine has bags of character, just not quick enough to justify fuel and servicing/parts costs.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something with lower kerb weight and more power, probably Japanese again.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Reasonable. Handles quite well, engine sounds excellent, throttle response and traction are good but not overly quick once up and moving. It's a heavy car with average power so struggles to impress on the road. Typically not much quicker than a generic 2.0 TDI engined car. Standard brake set up does not inspire spirited driving. Feels like it would hold up quite well in a crash.
What's it like to park?
Visibility is good but turning circle is poor so tricky to park in tight spaces.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing substantial to speak of. Suspension top mount bearings have required replacing twice. Full of creaks and rattles. Fine other than this.
What's most practical about your car?
Not much really. The boot will just about handle a set of golf clubs (with the woods removed) but not much more. Doors are long and heavy so hard work getting in and out in car parks.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise control & heated seats.
