Very nice, comfortable and practical.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably yes, a newer version though.
What are you likely to buy next?
A similar sized car but a small turbo petrol, possibly a Golf TSI or Alfa Romeo.

Did you get a good deal and why?
Yeah, only paid £3,000 for the car in good condition with a lot of work carried out by the last owners.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted a Golf for a while.
What was the dealer like?
The owners were really nice, explaining what they had done to the car without being too in your face pushing for the sale.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I've been used to driving sportier cars for a few years so this one doesn't feel quite as tight and nimble on twisty roads to me. It is a lot more comfortable to drive though.
What's it like to park?
Easy, that's all I can say about that.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Not really. When I brought it I knew the cambelt needed doing soon and a service so got my local mechanic to do that. The only problem is that the door seals aren't that good and will need replacing soon.
What's most practical about your car?
It's big enough so as not to feel cramped but not that big that it feels like you're taking up the whole road. The MPG is impressive as well for a 2004 car.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise control on the motorway and long roads is excellent.
