Summary
What does this car say about you?
Good question. Boring - some might say? some others may say - flashy? Most say sensible and I think that is the best way to describe it.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it. All my mates make me drive more often, as they find it the best car to be in.
Would you buy this car again and why?
The same spec car...YES.
What are you likely to buy next?
I quite like the Kia C'eed, with their 7 year warranty it is quite appealing and it's just as good to drive. Other than that, probably another Golf. I'm hooked!

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£10,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
A very good deal!! It was the end of the year and I got the impression they wanted to sell so pushed for after sales products and got half price on extended warranty and free mats! They even knocked more money off the car that was already reduced in their sale. I was never expecting to get a car with a built in sat-nav within my budget.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
My old Vauxhall Astra turbo failed after 60k miles?! With the repair cost being too high, I decided now was a good time for a change. I wanted a car that would be reliable, that has a good spec and offered a good balance of economy and performance.
What was the dealer like?
Very helpful and have continued to be impressive. I signed up for their service deal as it did work out cheaper over the year. Seemed a little keen to complete the deal (which worked to my benefit).

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I have always preferred diesel cars, but this has been a dream to drive. The turbocharged 1.4 engine is very nippy around town and is fantastic for overtaking on the dual carriage ways and motorways. I recently drove all the way from the Midlands to Cornwall and I have to say the seats are very comfy and the drive position for a 6' 3" guy is very good.
What's it like to park?
Easy, very easy! Parking sensors help and the display on the screen is very useful. Steering in tight corners is very good and the turning circle is the best I've driven.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nope, not as yet. Hoping not as I bought a Golf for it's reliability reputation.
What's most practical about your car?
Storage and space for passengers. I have to take regularly people over 6' in the back and they haven't complained about lack of space. Door storage is very good. All round parking sensors are very good and the display on the main console telling you how close you are is very good.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Sat Nav, parking sensors, touch screen display is very good, automatic lights. I could go on...
