Summary
What does this car say about you?
Probably that I am boring.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like the colour (steel grey met.).
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. I have already had one 'accident' where the 'Hill Hold Assist' caused the car to roll into a fence. I thought I had applied enough handbrake but it was the HHA that was holding the car and 2 seconds later it released and the car rolled.
What are you likely to buy next?
Looking for a MK5 with the 1.9 TDi PD engine. The 1.6 TDi is nowhere near as economical as claimed. In fact, it returns much the same as the Bora (50 MPG) on a journey for journey comparison but the claimed 'Combined' consumption is 62 for the 1.6 compared with 54 for the 1.9.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£18,000
When did you buy the car?
August 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
This was a 'pack' car so good discount off list price.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed a hatchback after owning 2 Boras.
What was the dealer like?
OK, but didn't explain features, like the fact that I would be driving in daytime with main beam on (Daytime Running Lights).

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Boring
What's it like to park?
OK but I like to turn down both door mirrors so that I can see the white lines when reversing into a bay. If I do this and then try to return them to the driving position I have to adjust both of them.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No
What's most practical about your car?
Plenty of passenger space.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
None, in fact I wish I could turn off some of the dumb features, like the fact the Air Conditioning randomly turns on with the blower.
