Volkswagen Golf Hatchback (2013 - 2020) 1.4 TSI Match 5d DSG Owner Review

Very smooth engine and auto gearbox which can also be changed manually. Good performance and economy from 1.4T engine. Nippy when Sport mode selected. I am average driver and get 40+mpg in city. 50+mpg on country roads. High 40's on motorway I think. Smooth, comfortable and quiet ride. Suspension not hard but handles and grips surprisingly well. I have heard that larger wheels and tyres make the ride harsher and noisier. Good all rounder in town, country roads and motorways. Covers distances surprisingly quickly yet relaxed. Roomy inside. Decent size boot with ski hatch and choice of two boot floor levels. huge space with rear seats folded flat. Match model is well equipped with parking sensors front and rear. It's an easy car to live with and would probablt suit most people. I have had mine 5 years now and aannot think what I would want to change it for.
