Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

We looked at the Golf R but decided the fuel consumption was too high . The garage had one GTE left in stock for immediate delivery so we part exchanged in our Golf GTI for the Advance model GTE. It has good acceleration from 0-30mph , probably faster than the GTI but slower 0-60 mph. The boot space is not a huge problem as the car is used by just me and my wife but I could see it being an issue for a family . It looks like, with a bit more thought , that storage space for the charging cables could have been made under the floor / using side pocket spaces .Due to lockdown the car has not gone back to the dealer but will do as soon as COVID allows - reset faulty service warning , check charging cap release and , most importantly , check why, even after a full charge, the charge covers as little as 15 miles rather than the stated 25 miles.

How reliable do you find the car?

Faulty warning about needing an oil change; charging flap comes open sometimes when driving ; does not charge up to expected 25 miles for pure electric driving.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

it is a nice car but does not feel or look as high quality as the GTI we had prior to this GTE.Boot space is poor and bad design means no storage compartment built in for the two unwieldy charging cables which have to lie in the boot.
