Volkswagen Golf Hatchback (2013 - 2020) GTI 2.0 TSI BMT 230PS (03/17 on) 5d Owner Review

The biggest surprise about this car is the fuel economy. Around town its mid 30s but on a long motorway trip about 46mpg. Touring is about 48. Around town the ride is a little bumpy as it doesn't have adaptive suspension. On the open road the ride is superb and a joy to drive. Handling is razor sharp and brakes excellent. I like the electric handbrake and the auto hold facility which means you can virtually forget about the handbrake. The engine and transmission are strong and after a 200 mile drive it's still sweet with no clunking or whineing. Overall the car is car is cheap to run, reliable and a joy to drive. I have owned over 30 cars and this Golf is about the best. It will be hard to replace.
