Volkswagen Golf Plus (2005 - 2008) 1.9 BlueMotion TDI 5d (DPF) Owner Review

This is a spacious, reliable car which is very economical to run in terms of MPG, insurance and car tax. It has good all-round vision and is easy to drive. The clutch, gear box and brakes are all good. The boot is much larger than a standard Golf. With the back seats down the storage capacity is huge. There are lots of storage spaces and there is plenty of room for both the driver and passengers. The styling is not to everybody's taste but the design ensures comfort and space for all. The rear window gets dirty very quickly so plenty of screenwash is required. The driving position is comfortable and all the controls are good quality and easy to use. The cabin has a solid, well-made feel. Overall, the MPG is 58 but, on a long run, 70 MPG is not unusual. The car is very comfortable for long journeys with good, firm seats. Both insurance and car tax costs are modest. VW servicing costs can be expensive. If out of warranty, a good quality independent garage would be the preferred choice.
