What does this car say about you?
Petrolhead hopefully? I don't think you can go wrong with a Golf. Well built, practical and with this V6 R32 that little bit more special.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Girlfriend loves it, mates love it, father is always trying to 'borrow' it. Neighbours think its just a Golf as its quite understated, however those who know about cars approve. Gets a lot of comments in petrol stations.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes! It is the perfect all rounder and all you need in a car.
What are you likely to buy next?
Would like to see what a MK6 or MK7 GTI/R are like. Can't see them having the soul of the V6! I have always loved BMW M cars so I think my next will be a Z4M or E92 M3.

Did you get a good deal and why?
I have never part exchanged a car, as dealers tend to give poor offers. However, this particular dealer offered me a very good price!

What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fantastic! The noise is the best bit. Its not loud at all when driving normally, but put it in sport and the exhaust is louder and sounds superb. The grip in the wet is amazing due to the 4WD. It is regarded as a hot hatch, but it really is an excellent GT car. I have been around Europe in it twice and it has been excellent.
What's it like to park?
Mine came with parking sensors. Bit random for a hot hatch, but surprisingly useful. The Mrs likes them :).

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Touch wood, nothing has gone wrong. VW said it needed a new xenon controlled when it had it's major service at 40k, this was fixed under my aftermarket warranty I purchased.
What's most practical about your car?
Its a Golf, therefore plenty of room, storage, ergonomic touches and such.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The Recaro heated leather seats are amazing, and are a lot better and rarer than the standard Vienna leather or cloth. I also really love the simple things like puddle lights, lux pack and xenon headlights.
