Volkswagen ID.3 Hatchback 150kW Family Pro Performance 62kWh 5dr Auto Owner Review

Physically, this car is superb, but whoever manages the software needs to be fired immediately before the whole range is blighted.

* Under what geological stratum did they find a touchscreen controller that can't distinguish a swipe from a click? That problem was solved in silicon about 15 years ago.
* Who took a microcontroller with the power of a Z80 and told it to draw 3D spinning cars when it clearly struggles to draw blue rectangles?
* How could they have released a version without noticing that it deletes the location (which includes all charging preferences among other things) whenever you drive it anywhere?
* Who thought that the map in the phone app should show you the position of the phone rather than of the car?
* What the hell does "Please check SAFELOCK Vehicle Wallet!" mean?
* Am I supposed to believe that the voice recognition is doing anything other than making up random responses? It's like talking to a schizophrenic.

This only scratches the surface of the ineptitude of this software. I'll keep the less catastrophic problems to myself until they solve these total show stoppers.

What a shame in such an otherwise wonderful car.
