Volkswagen Jetta (2011 - 2018) 2.0 TDI SE 4d DSG Owner Review

In their own words
My Jetta SE is the 110HP DSG TDi BlueMotion, bought used. It came with Convenience Pack, metallic paint, Atlanta alloys. Bought a saloon instead of the Golf hatch as prefer the saloon rear leg room and huge boot.
Car has suprised me in many ways, it's very quiet and serene on the motorways, but sure-footed enough for back road hustles. 67 mpg on the motorway and £20 VED is a big bonus.
The 7 speed DSG auto is also very snappy, and there's much less fatigue driving in towns. These cars are fairly rare in the UK, so used choice is limited. SE spec and above can be had cheaper than a similar Golf, later GT versions even more loaded.
110PS TDi is fairly brisk, it's excellent on the motorway, and very economical. Interior is very comfortable, and the rear leg-room is excellent. Bluemotion Tech adds stop start, longer gears and improved aero.
Jetta is longer than a Golf, so needs bigger parking spaces, the ParkPilot parking sensors are needed for squeezing into tight city spaces.
Jetta is a lovely car with refined cruising and plenty of performance. A baby Audi, perhaps, but much cheaper.
Other choices were Skoda Octavia, but Jetta interior is much nicer. Octavia gets a rear hatch, Jetta has huge boot, plus fold-down rear seats. Convenience Pack has auto lights and rain sensing wipers, plus an auto-dip rear mirror.
