Economy
Value
A lot of car and spec for your money.
Costs
Very economical for a petrol model.

On the road
Driving
Very light ride. Easy clutch, gears and steering yet feels secure and strong. Also feels a lot bigger than it actually is.
Performance
Nice pull on take-off for such a small engine, thanks to MPI (multi point injection) system. A bit stretched on the motorway, however.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems. My past VWs were all very reliable, and this one is no exception.
Image
You either love it or hate it! Very eye-catching, whatever your taste.
Comfort
Quality seats for a small car, and driver's is height adjustable. Firm and supportive. Not cramped in the back.
-
Security and Service
Security
A bit poor: no central locking or alarm, just steering lock and immobiliser.
Service
Pleasant and helpful at garage. Good aftersales care.
