Volkswagen Passat CC (2008 - 2011) 2.0 GT 4d Owner Review

In their own words
Only had the car for a week, but it's already putting a smile on my face...
Took quite some time to find a decent petrol CC, I don't like diesel and do shorter journeys so DPFissues would have given problems. So I was lucky enough to get a low miles car with the later 2.0TSI engine which does not have the cambelt of the older FSI T. Car is in steel grey which looks blue to me.
So far it's all good, comfortable and handles very well for such a big car though you are always aware of its size and the parking sensors are very much needed. Performance from the TSI engine is superb, being the same as the golf Gti of its era it is responsive, smooth and very quiet, pulling from seemingly any rpm and moving swiftly with little use of the pedal.
Had apprehensions about the EPB but it's fine and in some ways easier than the usual lever, parking and reversing are a challenge due to the length and width of the car, also rear visibility is not so good so sensors are pretty much needed.
That said it has good street presence, 18" alloys and slick roof line do make it stand out on the road. Though getting in the back, watch your head as the roof will make contact with your skull more often than you think.
So early days but so far so good, it is worth looking out for the GT TSI version, performance 0-60 - 7.5s and over 40mpg on a run, excellent.
