What does this car say about you?

It says I don't need to drive a car with a badge so I can spend the extra money on toys and options. A sound philosophy - just ask my colleague, with the same allowance as me, who has to look at my car when he steps out of his A5 in the car park at work.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They love it. Everyone thinks it's a very pretty car and I've even caught people stopping to look at it in the street which is nice.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would certainly spend my own money on one if I were in the private market and I will also seriously look at whatever CC model is available upon my lease renewal in 2013

What was the dealer like?

VW Crawley - very good, knowledgable and helpful, even though they knew they wouldn't get the sale through our lease management co.

What's it like to drive?

Very responsive, good for cruising. Despite being a big car, it's quick enough to have a little play and it'll get you out of (or in!) trouble. Good economy..regularly 50mpg+. In an experiment from Birmingham to London, starting with a full tank and at 60mph on cruise control I got a trip average of 68mpg with a range of 1045 miles. Yes....the missus has already told me to get a life!!

What's it like to park?

A piece of cake with the sensors and optical parking display. It would be difficult without them though as the rear visibility is isn't great, especially at night.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Dealer (north of england) that supplied it did a poor job on the PDI - rectified later with a valet and an apology. They also supplied the incorrect disc for the media/sat nav. This was sorted by VW Maidstone on a busy saturday morning the day after the car was delivered - thanks guys.

What's most practical about your car?

Very roomy for all passengers, comfy on a long journey. Big boot but hard to get 2 sets of clubs in without taking the drivers out of the bag!

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Definitely the 510 media system. Disappointed with the tilt only sunroof (an expensive option and my fault for not checking it was a slider too) but the extra sunlight is nice anyway. Playing with the button operated rear blind always makes me smile!
