Economy
Value
An Audi with a VW badge. Good value for money.
Costs
What you would expect. 52-56 mpg on a long run if you don't push it.

On the road
Driving
A great all rounder. Good driving position with lots of adjustment available. Excellent suspension and roadholding. Slick gearbox and sports seats good.
Performance
Lively and lots of grunt from the 115 pumped diesel.

Living with it
Reliability
Shocked rigid as a fan of VW's. ECU and major alarm malfunction due to ingress of water (pollen box leak), small end shattered requiring new engine, ss radiator corroded to replace, new water pump required, wheel bearing(s) shot. All before 77k.
Image
It's a VW, so average I suppose, though' I ordered quite a few extras and it's the jazzier Sport variant.
Comfort
No complaints. No backache etc on long runs. Silent cabin at speed and 6 footers in the rear no problem. Estate boot generous and does the job.

Security and Service
Security
Rottweiler alarm gets you cheaper insurance but the ECU is poorly placed under the passenger footwell and prone to leaking pollen box!
Service
Don't trust the dealer (proven incompetence).
