Summary
What does this car say about you?
I can't afford an Audi / BMW, so its the next best thing, it's a more sensable option, pound for pound.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all like it, it looks good in grey with privicy glass etc.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, Whist its a good car, I feel VW have cut corners on the newer Passats, compaired to the older ones, I've had both in the identical spec, and the 2002 one was so much nicer to drive (and reliable) than the 2006, but on paper the later one is better in every dept.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably 5 series m sport tourer, possible A6 avant, but not a 2.0 tdi.

No, but you never do..
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I owned the previous shape (2002) passat 1.9 TDI Sport estate and did over 100,000 miles in it, loved it so much I bought a newer one.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Nice, there a bit of road noise, and the dash board creaks all the time, very efficient, it will return 50mpg+ at 75 on the motorway according to the on board computer, not sure how accurate it is though. Great Motorway muncher.
What's it like to park?
No problems, even without parking sensors.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Turbo gave up after 36,000 miles, I do not drive my car hard, its a common fault on VW/Audi 2.0 tdi engines, cost £1200 for a new one. Door handles keep failing, had 2 now, dashboard rattling drives me bonkers.
What's most practical about your car?
Space, back seats go flat very easy, can be done with one hand.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Auto wipers and lights.
