Volkswagen Passat Estate (2015 - 2024) GT 2.0 TSI 220PS DSG auto 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
The Passat is a great car; spacious, practical and classless. In GT TSI 220 PS guise it is also very nice to drive.
Overall it feels very luxurious; compares well to BMW/Audi, lots of well thought out features. The active cruise control (ACC) works really well making motorways a doodle. The Active display is also great - very configurable.
Extras I would recommend: Integrated child seats Full leather (seems good value upgrade on GT trim - not that much extra) Automatic boot opening Progressive Steering Heated Steering wheel.
Not totally convinced the Dynaudio sound upgrade was worth it, It's nice, but it was expensive.
The boot is just such a great shape, can take an adult bike (wheels off) without folding the seats.
Slight niggle with the VW App Connect - when you connect your iPhone it takes control of the infotainment system and stops you listening to the radio. That is the only issue, which i hope they have some ideas about at first service.
For a family estate I think this is the class leader: The Audi A6 and Mercedes E Class, paying a lot more for the same spec and older technology, no 2 litre pertol either. The Skoda Superb is nearly the same car as the Passat, but for the spec i wanted it was more expensive and I prefer the Passat styling. The latest BMW 5 series might be better, not tried it, but to get the same spec you would be paying 50% premium. I can't see that being worth it when the top trim passat is so practical, comfortable and well equipped.
