Economy
Value
Dearer than a Mondeo or Vectra, but worth it for quality & better residuals.
Costs
Incredible fuel economy up to 45mpg urban, 60mpg possible on a run. Independant V.W specialists are your best bet for servicing.

On the road
Driving
Safe handling, not the sportiest, but plenty of grip.
Performance
Quick by any standards, but when you consider the economy it's just phenomenal. Incredible mid range urge.

Living with it
Reliability
Only had 2 months, 1 minor fault so far - boot lock motor failed, apparently a common fault.
Image
Solid, dependable, high quality, but not flash. Great looks.
Comfort
Great seats, firm but comfortable, did over 400 miles in 1 day, no aches or pains at all. Superb ride quality.

Security and Service
Security
Thankfully not tested yet, alarm system seems well thought out & reasonably sophisticated, secure boot.
Service
Only used to buy accessories & replacement boot lock motor - was sold the wrong motor!
