Summary
What does this car say about you?
Practical. Not overly exciting, but at least I won't harp on about how Seats and Skodas are the same as VWs but cheaper.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Impressed, but that wasn't difficult being my last car was an Escort.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. Good engine, mint condition, everything I need with (so far) little hassle and expense
What are you likely to buy next?
Another passat (newer) or possibly an A4/A6 - Likely to be an estate, depending on what's out there
-
Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£6,800
When did you buy the car?
April 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes. Think it had been on for a while, so they were keen to sell. That and it was mint condition and drove exceptionally well
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed a car with a bigger boot - liked VWs and saw this on the dealer forecourt
What was the dealer like?
Good. Friendly and happy to help with all questions and issues
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very good. Turbo lag from standing lets it down now and then, but pulls like a train on the motorway with a regular 55+ MPG return at 70MPH
What's it like to park?
Not bad for a car its size. I got used to the length pretty quickly though and now it may as well be a golf

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes. Alarm started going off intermittently, which was sorted by replacing the passenger door central locking switch under warranty.
What's most practical about your car?
Rear leg room
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Climate Control
