Volkswagen Passat Saloon (2015 - 2021) 2.0 TDI SCR (190bhp) R Line 4d Owner Review

It was my first saloon car after over 10 years of 4 x 4s also VWs. I’d forgotten the advantages, a very quiet and spacious cabin plus a huge boot. The R-line version gave me all the bells and whistles of my previous VW with the exception of the digital dash, which is really not much of a disadvantage. The 190BHP car is as quick as I need It to be and it is very economical given it’s weight and dimensions. Given it’s above average mileage, it drives like new and thus is impressive. The downsides for me are having to put on roof bars to carry my DIY stuff, the chrome side strips are slightly pitted and the driver’s seat shows very slight signs of wear. I’m not intending swapping it for while as my annual mileage now is small. But if I did, I will definitely consider buying another.
