Volkswagen Passat Saloon (2015 - 2021) 2.0 TDI SE Business 4d DSG Owner Review

In their own words
The Passat B8 2.0tdi dsg is a roomy, comfortable, pleasant to drive, well built, and unpretentious car. No sportiness, for that, buy Alfa or BMW. The adaptive cruse control, torquey engine, automatic gearbox and auto parking brake work in harmony to provide a stress-free driving experience. Large regularly shaped boot and a spare wheel, but glove box and centre armrest storage are limited. 65mpg is readily achieved on longer journeys, about town expect less than 30 mpg. Sensors front & rear aid parking, but no rear camera, and somewhat difficult to judge extremities mean the Passat is not the easiest car to accurately place between the lines in a car park, or next to a kerb. Bright LED headlights are a boon after dark, but inexplicably, no auto dim. Clear instruments & sat-nav screen together with logically placed controls mean the Passat is a car that can be driven with next to no familiarisation. An obstruction at the bottom of the dipstick tube preventing use of a oil removal pump, and subterranean oil filter location mean use of a lift and removal of the undertray is necessary for a simple oil change. The Passat is one of the best family saloon cars on the market, however, use of many plastic engine components and fastenings which will age and crack is a long term concern.
