Volkswagen Polo Coupe 1.3 CL 3d (1991/H) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
German metal for under 500 pounds. Good fuel economy.
Costs
New wing for £30, however needed clutch at about £150 total cost

On the road
Driving
Pleasant to drive, not so easy in wet however, possible to not only spin pulling off in 1st but also in 2nd. High speed bends the car tends to drift slightly. Position was nice, gearchange I found nice, pedals fine. Brakes could be better.
Performance
Surprising quick for 55bhp. Had good low end torque, 0-60 is officially 11.6

Living with it
Reliability
Started every time.
Image
Coupe looks not too bad with similar lines to a mk1 golf, a far shot away from the 'grandadish' estate-like hatch.
Comfort
Nice low driving position but far more jumpy than a modern car. Pedals and wheel in good reach and steering not bad with new tyres on.

Security and Service
Security
Luckily not an often stolen car, aftermarket alarm is a good choice.
