Economy
Value
Main dealers are very expensive. Look out for private sales. Make sure it's got service history.
Costs
VW are an absolute ripoff. Reg vardy quoted £175 just for a small interior bulb replacement. Go to your local machanic.

On the road
Driving
Excellent handling, good visibilaty and driving position. Pedals are very close together. Gear not close enough to the stearing wheel for it to be sporty.
Performance
Very nippy, although very noisy at high revs. Sticks in second gear. Left many cars behind on traffic lights.

Living with it
Reliability
Starts first time every time, especialy in winter.
Image
Not a Ferrari, but still a head turner. I have been asked many times if I was going to sell my car.
Comfort
Alright for front two. Very cramped at the back.

Security and Service
Security
Only immobilser as standard. Worth investing in an alarm. Not broken into yet.
Service
Very bad customer service by VW. I was charged £45 just for them to diagnose a fault, even though I had full VW warranty and only had the car for 1month. VW are the worst Reg Vardy in particular. They should try and learn something from Japanese car manufacturers.
