Economy
Value
The value is OK, but for what you are paying on second hand, my model does not have air-con or even an alarm, only central locking which I would want as standard.
Costs
Very good on full economy, can get over 110 miles out of £10 which is rare these days.

Driving
Very good to drive, can be flung into corners at speed, especially when car is lowered at 50mm.
Performance
The performance is amazing for a little 1.4 16v. The amount of bigger cars that I have blown away is unbelievable. I would recommend getting a green air filter, it gives some 10bhp and sounds good.

Living with it
Reliability
Car starts every day and has never broken down, so far so good.
Image
VW has a very good image in the first place, but a lot of people under estimate the performance of the car.
Comfort
The seats are average for short distances, which is OK, but on long trips I get a very sore back from them.

Security and Service

The car is still here so it must be good!
Service
VW have been very helpful and pleasant and I have no complaints about my local dealer.
