Economy
Value
Holds its value very, very well, bought for 3.5k sold for 3 after one year, 500 quid depreciation is not bad for a 5 year old hatch.
Costs
Servicing is cheap, unless you go to a VW dealer, parts are not cheap in my experience, new water pump cost me £190!

On the road
Driving
To sum this car up in two words: mundane and boring.
Performance
Dull, boring, body roll, not my kind of thing, I need more power. Alright if you're just driving to the supermarket and back.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Starts first time eveytime, never EVER break down EVER. Few niggles but to be expected with a 5 year old car, nothing major at all.
Image
It's a polo, I'm 20, I don't like the image at all... Alright for my first car, but i can't wait to buy something else.
Comfort
Backache over long journeys.

Security and Service
Security
Someone tried to break in and they failed, bent the door slightly, but fixed with little hassle (bent it back with no damage myself).
Service
Never used a VW garage, they always quote ridiculous prices, they wanted £350 to fit a new water pump…

Got some grunt, but I need more power, Corrado G60 for my next car, pure, supercharged, VW goodness.

It's boring, but reliable, excellent shopping car.
