Volkswagen Polo Hatchback 1.6 GTi 3d (2001/Y) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Initial cost is as you'd expect from VW.
Costs
Very thirsty when pushed. I only get 250-280 miles on a tank of £43. Parts not too cheap either - clutch = £180.

On the road
Driving
Really likes to be revved. Fun to drive because it's so small you can do jammy moves. Good for long distance or short travels.
Performance
REALLY FAST for 1.6. Watch people get in shock when you beat them or keep up with them. (Keep in mind it's only a 1.6 AND not a 3.2 M3).

Living with it
Reliability
Very poor, however, I believe that I had the misfortune of correcting all teething problems. Once they were sorted, car was a dream!
Image
In my opinion just needs to be lowered, otherwise looks good with a lot of equipment which cost more on other cars.
Comfort
Very supportive comfortable sport seats (heated), also good with climate control and sunroof.

Security and Service
Security
What more can I say? I still have the car after taking it to South London!
Service
VW = Very W*nkerish: they are too arrogant for their own good.
