Value
Good if you compare the spec with a 1.4 16V.
Costs
Reasonable, but use the performance and fuel consumption can drop below 30mpg.

Driving
Poised, grippy and underrated by many.
Performance
Good midrange acceleration, particularly useful for snappy overtaking manoeuvres.

Living with it
Reliability
Generally good, but a manufacturing fault caused a pedal box failure - couldn't select gears properly. Fixed under warranty.
Image
Attracts some admiring looks, but I supect many think it's just a tarted up 1.0 because GTi is quite rare and not well known.
Comfort
Hard ride, but acceptable for a sporty car. Seats OK. Climate control is good.

Security and Service
Security
Deadlocks/alarm etc all standard.
Service
Varies with the staff I'm dealing with. They need to be pushed sometimes.
