Economy
Value
V.W's view must be 'you get what you've paid for', but I think nearly £8,000 is a lot for a car in this class, but you don't get much for that. Buy Jap!
Costs
Ok on fuel.

On the road
Driving
Poor drive very harsh on rough road surfaces and very noisy engines.
Performance
Runs ok, but all V.W's have an inherent tickover flutter which can be a right pain.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Ok stalls occasionally on cold mornings due to very low factory rev setting.
Image
Sporty looking, but let down by poor quality mechanics and fittings. V.W. are not what they seem.
Comfort
Engine and road vibration can be an issue with these cars very poor quality.

Security and Service
Security
Not tested.
Service
V.W. Like to sell the V.W. dream, but aftersales and warranty car issues are ignored or smoothed over. V.W. UK don't reply to complaints about poor dealerships. Once you've handed over your hard earned cash your on your own!
