Volkswagen Polo Hatchback (2002 - 2009) 1.2 E (64ps) 5d Owner Review

In their own words
The Polo borrows its engine from the Skoda Fabia, yet the Czech car seems more refined as well as being more reliable. During the 4 years I have had the vehicle, I sadly have to admit it is not as dependable as previously expected. Has undergone repairs and another one is on the way (rear brakes). Fuel economy about 35 mpg city-wise. The car is excellent to both maneuver and park given its small proportions. Can seat 5 at a squeeze. Handles like a doddle and the transmission is very light and simple. Would not recommend, however. I had a Fiat and a Peugeot before and they were great, excellent cars with no problems during the course of my ownership which is a bit of a shame since Volkswagen has been long regarded for building solid, distinguished and trouble-free vehicles.
How reliable do you find the car?
The car required several repairs including brakes and a pump. Leaked oil several times. On occasion something goes bad yet if the car is taken care of nothing if anything should happen to it. Also let me down on country roads and would not go. Has a lot of issues in the winter and the engine is disobedient in snowy, frosty conditions like such.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Overall I would say it does not boast the build quality of other comparable VW models of this era. Not a great all-rounder. Only usable in city driving. Engine on the motorway sounds fairly noisy and is underpowered.About their car
