Economy
Value
Once you put on essential kit the overall price can rocket. essentials like met paint and ESP traction control are hefty.
Costs
Very cheap to run. I put £30 worth of diesel in the tank every month and that's it! I'm getting about 57 mpg so very impressed. Even when you have some fun the mpg wont go below 40 mpg

Driving
Very good car, handling can be a bit worrying but the engine makes up for that.
Performance
For a 100 bhp engine it sure don't feel it. It will embarrass (on paper) faster cars. Have just ordered the Polo GT 130 TDI and I'm sure that will be even better!

Living with it
Reliability
Reliability seems to be ok since I had it (purchased new may 04). But from delivery has had many issues, a badly re-sprayed bumper (damaged by the dealer before delivery!), leather steering wheel falling apart, mis-aligned wing, door and bonnet.
Image
Good image, the red TDI badge lets people know that its a little bit of a pocket rocket.
Comfort
Seats take a while to get used to, but very supportive on long drives. Lots of space in the cabin, a/c essential.

Security and Service
Security
Its still sitting on my drive .
Service
Said that they did not damage the car before delivery to the dealer - who else would damage it and then would not even fix it - hence its being rejected and they have ordered me a GT to make up for it!
