Summary
What does this car say about you?
Not a lot.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
That it is an 'expensive disaster on wheels'
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. VW's are overpriced rubbish considering alternatives from Ford and Vauxhall are both cheaper to buy and to run.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably a bigger TDi car. Ford Mondeo seems best of the bunch by a long way. Embarrases VW's Passat.

Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£7,495
When did you buy the car?
April 2006
Did you get a good deal and why?
Good deal considering I had to contend with £2000 of neg. equity.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
For its economy and size. Bought to replace an extremely thirsty Renault
What was the dealer like?
Friendly and supportive, yet was hiding a disaster vehicle
-

Easy, its small
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
PLEANTY. Only had it two months and differential pinion sheered off, causing a hole in the gearbox. VW said this was a 'regular problem' with TDi Polos. Parts had to come from Germany, costing best part of £500 to sort out.
What's most practical about your car?
Comfort, when its working properly
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
None, having said that repeating indicator is a useful toy on the motorway
