Summary
What does this car say about you?
I bought the car as a practical vehicle.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes I would buy another Polo. I like the use of quality materials throughout especially in the interior and the quality and overall finish of the car. Ride and handling are great. My only reservation is the basic 1.2 (65) engine which lets the vehicle down. Next time I am going for a TSI petrol engine or one of the diesel options.
What are you likely to buy next?
Volkswagen Polo or Golf.

Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,500
When did you buy the car?
November 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
The car was their courtesy car and was only 5 months old at the time. The dealer offered 2 years free servicing and a generous (after some lengthy negotiation) part exchange offer.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
What was the dealer like?
Friendly and business like as you would expect from a major franchise, but nothing exceptional in the way I felt I had been treated.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
To its credit the car has performed flawlessly as I expected it would given it's now a three year Volkwagen Polo. My only gripe would be that the basic 1.2 (65) is a little noisier than I would have expected. With hindsight I would have gone for a more refined TSI petrol engine or diesel variant. Handling feels precise and road-holding around sweeping bends is superb.
What's it like to park?
The powered assisted steering makes parking relatively straight-forward although I have noticed the chunky front window pillars can be an impedance to visibility.
