Volkswagen Polo Hatchback (2009 - 2017) 1.2 TSI (110bhp) SEL 5d DSG Owner Review

In their own words
I got this car in 2015. One thing I do love about this car, is the interior. It feels premium for a small car, the plastics are nice, the stereo is nice. Also the engine is nice, despite being a 1.2, it pulls nicely on the motorway and is quick off the line and the DSG 7-speed box is nice and smooth, running around town, going down country roads, or long motorway drives, it can handle it all with ease (only thing I would like is cruise control, but that is unusual on cars this size). It comes with a good level of kit, electric windows all round, electric-heated mirrors. Running costs are low, insurance is good, tax is low, and it is pretty economical for a petrol and the engine is quiet even at motorway speeds. The only bummer is that the otherwise great stereo missed out on Android Auto and Car Play which are now standard in more cars, I asked about updating the current stereo, but apparently it is unavailable in this model.
The interior space is average. I find other cars like the Yaris have a bigger boot and more leg room in the back, although it is not terrible, is okay for young kids and can fit adults in the back for a short journey.
I have had a few minor issues. First the screen washer stopped working in the first few months, which was replaced under warranty. Recently, the blower resistor went so it only worked on number 4, £90 with labour and also the air con got a leak costing me £300. In general, the car has been reliable and I have put quite a few miles on it, but these niggling issues, have left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth leading me to believe that VW reliability isn't what it once was. Apart from that just the usual costs like servicing, MOTs, tyres etc, which have all been what you would expect.
