Summary
What does this car say about you?
Sensible, reserved but practical. Someone who likes quality but not showy cars.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it and think it's great.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably, but would need to review the options list to get a more premium feel. VW need to look at costs of replacing lamps as I can't do this and they do charge around £20 for a brake light?
What are you likely to buy next?
Just ordered an Audi A1. Same car really, but with that extra premium feel.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£13,000
When did you buy the car?
September 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, got around £1k off the list price by going in on a quiet Saturday near the end of the month armed with a quote from an online Broker, which the dealer actually beat.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted a premium small car as a second car in the family.
What was the dealer like?
Really nice and helpful, not pushy. We did test drive the 1.2 3 cylinder engine but preferred the 4 cylinder 1.4 as it was smoother. He sorted out drives in both cars on the day, no problem.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Really solid, nippy and great around town. Doesn't feel out of place on the motorway either.
What's it like to park?
Simple, especially with reverse parking sensors.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing much other than the odd light bulb, but these had to be replaced by the dealer due to special tools being needed.
What's most practical about your car?
Nippy little runabout with a reasonable boot, but premium feeling interior.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Auto wipers, auto dimming mirror and reverse parking sensors all bought as part of the convenience pack, best £200 ever spent!
