This model had all the whistles & flutes, cruise control, sat nav,rear camera ,parking sensors, & a good MPG figure. But reliability wise when are these overheating problems going to recur again ? Surprised these 1.4TDis were not the subject of recalls by VW . I notice the new model in Nov review does not list this 1.4 TDi engine,so come to your own conclusions as to why .
How reliable do you find the car?
1.4TDi Diesel engine introduced in 2014. Obviously rushed into prodn after "Dieselgate" & I, like others (at least 10,but true figure only VW know) have needed both thermo & water pump replacing. after 28,000 miles & 3 years, due to INHERENT overheating problem. The thermo was replaced,but insufficient coolant circulating & pump found to have a metal cowl covering the pump's impeller & preventing circulation. Maybe it's some sort of "failsafe" device but no satisfactory reason given to me for cause by VW. If you check the VW Polo Forum you will find one person has needed this done annually for 3 years running. So Caveat Emptor !About their car
