I wasn’t particularly looking at the scirocco when I was looking to buy a newer car. I was looking at Audi’s, BMW’s. Mercedes. But spotted 7 different coloured VW Scirocco’s in a line. Picked 1 out to test drive. And within a minute or so of driving it. I knew this was the car for me. Not even knowing what the insurance group was. The car tax. Or MPG. The handling was and still is superb. The road tax is only £30 for the year. Which is a bonus. The insurance went up a bit from my previous car. About £100 more a year. The mpg is really good. I get between 50 & 60 mpg average. And trust me I don’t poodle about in it. I usually get around 550 to 600 miles on a full tank. That includes both round town & motorway driving. I owned it over 3 years and the only repairs I’ve spent on it was wheels & tyres due to pot holes . And a couple of headlight bulbs. So if you’re looking at a 3 door coupe. I’d definitely recommend giving the Scirocco a look. Best car I’ve owned in the 36 years I’ve been driving.
How reliable do you find the car?
Really reliable car. Except it doesn’t like pot holes. Had to replace a few tyres and a couple of repairs on the alloy wheels.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Would of liked auto folding in door mirrors as I drive through narrow country lanes frequently.About their car
