What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 20 - 44 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

All engines are fairly fuel efficient but go for a TDi for best economy. Service intervals are well-spaced, but Volkswagen dealer labour rates and parts tend to be expensive. Depreciation shouldn’t be too much of a concern. Values should hold strong.
Overall build quality is very good and it’s proving to be durable at high mileages. But there have been some minor faults with the paint, air-conditioning and water leaks.
