I don’t really have a bad thing to say about this car apart from it’s a bit bland and dated inside, but I have modified the interior to make it feel more modern, also the front suspension shock absorbers are a pain to replace, as the top mounts corrode due to water sitting on top of the suspension cups. It still feels like a new car to drive, it’s comfortable and has decent power for what it is and also returns good mpg around town, and I’ve seen 54mpg on the motorway.
How reliable do you find the car?
The 1.9 tdi is the best Diesel engine Volkswagen have made, it doesn’t have the problematic DPF that plagues newer cars, and doesn’t use ad blue so is definitely more reliable. These engines are pretty much bulletproof if serviced on time, and can easily do over 300k miles with no issues.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Yes the Volkswagen sharan is so useful, one minute you can be dropping the kids off at school, the next it transforms in to a van with plenty of space with the 5 rear seats removed.About their car
