Economy
Value
Lots of car for the money and they go on and on.
Costs
VW's cost a lot more to maintain than comparable Ford Galaxy. Fuel economy on our 2.0 auto is poor - 20mpg around town, 28-29mpg on a good run. Parts are not cheap.

Driving
As good as can be expected from such a tall, heavy vehicle. Very smooth with easy controls. Not as nice to drive as a regular car
Performance
Does well for its size although it will not set the world alight. 70mph in this feels faster than in other cars.

Living with it
Reliability
We have no problems, but at 80,000 miles things are starting to wear out and drop off. Disappointed that the interior shows it's age when the car is designed for heavy family use. Little goes wrong in between services.

One of the best for MPV's, but hardly a babe magnet. Was difficult parting with our Passat for this, which was out of necessity. Some of the trim is not up to usual VW standards.
Comfort
Very comfortable and spacious with good legroom and headroom for all seven occupants. Seats are firm and supportive. Dirvers seat and steering wheel adjust to suit every shape and size of driver.

Security
We have no problems. Not a prime target for crime. However, luggage cover (optional) essential to keep prying eyes out of the boot.
Service
We have excellent service from our local VW dealer, but at a price. However, if well maintained, little goes wrong in between services.
