Volkswagen Tiguan (2016 - 2024) 2.0 TSI 320 4Motion R 5dr DSG Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Fabulously impressive acceleration - tested 0-60 in 4.24 secs. Really good roadholding. The dynamic chassis control is very good - four choices of suspension and other settings. Seems very quiet when driven gently. Great comfort and very good visibility. The motorised leather seats are an upgrade but make a big difference. Very good heating and air conditioning. Very flexible - huge boot. Excellent Harmon Kardon stereo but unreliable wireless connection to your smartphone. Excellent IQ headlights.
Expensive - £54,000 on the road including some expensive extras and Service Plan.
Poor fuel consumption and requires more costly "E5" petrol.
Utterly disappointing oil leak after 6 months still yet to be resolved and continues to limit how much and how we dare use the car. VW Customer Services totally unhelpful.
Considering getting rid of the car if ever the VW mechanics can stop it leaking oil.
How reliable do you find the car?
Leaking oil. Still not resolved after several visits to a VW dealer. Delays and workshop appointments cancelled due to repairs over running on other cars because parts are not available.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Feel let down by persistent oil leak after 6-8 months. Can't take car on long journey - VW garage advice.
Also had VW recall for engine cover to be removed - daid to be a fire hazard. Very frustrating. Very concerming.
Wireless Android Auto does not work - endless intermittent performance. Very disappointing having paid hundreds for the option stereo upgrade.
